Long before politics.

People in my life were already telling me some version of the same thing:

“You just don’t quit.”

“You are going to change the damn world—or save someone trying—because you care one hell of a lot, even when they give you every reason to back down.”

I was called “the Lorax” once or twice because of that idea that it only takes one person caring a whole awful lot to begin making a difference. But the nickname was never the point. The point was that other people saw this in me long before I had words for it myself.

Once I care, I am in.

I am ruthlessly loyal, sometimes to a fault. I do not quit on someone because helping becomes difficult. I do not walk away because everyone else already has. I do not suddenly stop caring because standing up becomes lonely, inconvenient, or painful.

That does not mean I always win. It does not mean I can save everyone or fix everything. It means I will not stop caring, and I will not quit trying to make this world better for the people in it.

The tools behind the care.

I bring more than a decade of experience across manufacturing account management, operations, quality assurance, regulatory compliance, procurement, and government contracting.

After several years of serious health challenges, I left my previous position in 2025 and started NorthStar so I could continue doing meaningful work in a way that better supported my health.

Today I operate NorthStar Defense Acquisitions LLC, an independent consulting business built around a reality many organizations face: they may need several forms of specialized expertise without having the workload or budget to hire a separate full-time employee for each one.

My work spans business and financial analysis, federal cybersecurity compliance—including CMMC and NIST requirements—technical writing, procurement, operational planning, coding, and digital systems development. Through a modular service model, organizations can engage the particular capability or combination of skills they need for a specific project, challenge, or period of time.

That experience taught me how to research the facts, understand complicated systems, follow decisions through to their real consequences, and build practical solutions.

Yes, I am a nerd.

I excel at Excel. I genuinely enjoy laws, statutes, policies, procedures, spreadsheets, and the details most people would rather skip. I read agenda packets, trace decisions through meeting minutes, pull the statutes, and keep digging until I understand what a proposal will actually do.

Reading statutes and policies is genuinely how I spend some of my free time, which earns plenty of “only you, Mollie” comments at home. I also love being outdoors and spend as much time outside as I can. Striker, my Anatolian Shepherd mix and constant sidekick, usually joins me—and when the statutes, policies, or agenda packets come outside too, he often helps keep the papers from flying away.
